My goal for Day 2 was simply to enjoy the company of my friends and enjoy the mountain scenery. Both of these were easy to do in Canmore with the company I was keeping.
After waking from a very restful sleep I found that my butt and legs were quite sore from riding the day before. This feeling will wane as the tour progresses and those muscles get worked more. I had a quick shower and watched Olympic coverage with everyone and waited for the big event of the day to happen: we were going golfing to Kananaskis.
We were joined by my friend Quito and his girlfriend Sarah for the golf game. My playing was horrible, and I had the misfortune of breaking the shaft of a golf club I had borrowed from Matt’s roommate to play. It was odd- I busted the shaft after nailing a beautiful 250-yard drive off the sixth hole. I guess there’s a first time for everything.
For the most part my playing was horrible…but that did not matter. I was there to have a good time and enjoy the amazing scenery. Every hole had something breathtaking to look at and the fellowship of the round was enjoyable too.

After we finished golfing and returned to Canmore it was nearly 10:00. We enjoyed some BBQ and visited late into the evening. I had intended to go to bed early and get a good night’s sleep for a big day I had planned for tomorrow, but I was having to much fun visiting. I believe I finally went to sleep at around 2:30.
Tomorrow I say good-bye to Canmore. If I was going east this would be hard to do, but the excitement of heading west to BC was rather intense.
